LS1 v8 motor that was bored and stroked to displace 370 cubic inches. It has a baby "Comp Cams" camshaft with .523/.530 lift, 114 lsa 216/220 duration.. The heads and motor were built by More Performance in January 1999. The heads flow 300 cfm the on intake. The short block has Wiseco pistons, Lunati rods, and Scat 3.90" crank. The motor was put on an engine dyno in Febuary 1999 and it made 474 hp. Click for receipts/parts/pics/engine dyno results of motor.
11/9/05 - Final Tune - Fuel pressure was perfect at 56psi. The car made best power at 24 degrees of timing. HP is now at 398 and 410 TQ:
2/18/06 - Switched to 3.90 gears from 4.10's, and adjusted kaaz differential from 100% lockup to 33%. Diagram showing how to set up the Kaaz
1/28/07 - Johann installed custom power steering system and a new exhaust turndown/tip.
4/7/07 - Installed stock gas tank, Hyperion's Surge Bucket Cover, fuel pressure gauge. Click here.
7/1/07 The HINSON power steering kit comes with rubber high pressure hose but HINSON sent me one made of braided stainless steel, which I wrapped with a ceramic heat shielding (Thermo-Tec Thermo-Sleeve Insulation) because how close it is to the headers:
10/30/07 Evans high flow water pump & 5.25" pulley (smallest pulley = highest flow):
Water pump installed:
Hinson radiator and fan (on right). The taurus fan (on left) will not fit with the bigger Evans water pump.
1/21/06 Oil Cooler - The billet adapter (above the oil filter) is sold by LG Motorsports for $99. It has a provision for a sending unit (i used it for oil temp).
10/30/07 Swapped out the Setrab oil cooler for an 12 x 8 inch Earls oil cooler. pic1, pic2, pic3, pic4
Stock crank pulley is 7.5"
10% UD is 6.75
25% UD is 5.625-->what I currently run.
35% UD is 4.875
I think my water pump pulley is 5.4 inches diameter (17 " circumference).
5/08 replaced my under drive pulley with a stock pulley because I was getting a low RPM cooling issue.
